Pastor Joe Alain has been preaching and teaching for over thirty-eight years. A native of Florida, Pastor Joe came to CBC in 2015 after having previously served churches in Louisiana and Alabama. Joe employs an expositional style of preaching and teaching and the use of metaphor, humor, and probing questions is often seen in his sermons.
Favorite Bible Verse: One verse that I have gone to repeatedly as a confession of praise to God and to share with others is 2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” What God did for me by his amazing grace, he will do for anyone who will come to Him in simple faith!
Pastor Matt Singleton is serving as our Student & Music Pastor. Matt grew up in the Tampa Bay area, and he and his family were a part of Bay Area Baptist Church before the merger with First Baptist Church of Carrollwood in 1994. While finishing his associate’s degree at Hillsborough Community College in 2013, Matt was invited to serve alongside our music and youth ministers as a ministerial intern. He was then ordained as a minister of the Gospel on September 21, 2014. Matt graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and later attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Christian Studies. Matt is married to Jennifer Singleton, and they have two beautiful daughters, Madison and Abigail.
